WHEN ASKED HOW SHE FELT BEFORE HER CLEVELAND BOUDOIR SESSION
AND HOW IT TRANSFORMED HER PERSPECTIVE SHE HAD THIS TO SAY…..
I’ve really struggled with feeling comfortable in my skin in the past and still feel the dread a little bit every swimsuit season. I always felt that I was just a little too big to pull off a bikini, ever since whatever age preteen/teenage girls start to care about how they look in a swimsuit. My thighs are too big, my belly is too big, etc. But as I got older, I realized that a lot of women who were bigger than me wore bikinis and pulled them off really well, so I told myself if they can do it and feel confident, I can do it, too! I started to realize that the women we see in movies or magazines in swimsuits represent such a small variety of body types, so women shouldn’t feel bad about themselves if they don’t fit into that mold. Every woman, and I mean EVERY woman deserves to feel beautiful. So, I decided to do a session as an anniversary gift, and my husband loved it! Honestly, it felt more like a gift to myself because it was a huge self-confidence boost. My biggest fear was that I was going to end up not liking how my body looked in any of the photos, haha! I was nervous that I would just not look very flattering and that I would need a lot of convincing to buy any of the photos. That definitely didn’t happen! Cassie showed me some photos on the back of the camera during the shoot and I felt so relieved already that I looked great in them. Then during my reveal, it was really hard to narrow it down to 20 or so photos to put into a book! I was nervous about posing because I honestly suck at taking selfies and wasn’t sure how it would go. The photoshoot was definitely a little awkward at first, but Cassie was very patient and gave me specific instructions on how to pose to look sexy. I loved that she let me try something different by going to a beach! There’s just something about the beach that makes everyone feel a little sexier, right? I wanted to really play up the theme by going for a boho/hippie/ beach goddess look, and I’m so happy with how it turned out. I’ll always remember a conversation that took place afterward. I had commented on a photo of myself, “Thanks for turning me into a goddess!” She replied something along the lines of, “The goddess was already there – I just helped bring her out!” And that meant a lot to me. Every woman deserves to feel like a goddess every once in a while! Just look at the portfolio or the pictures shared in the Facebook group! Look at how gorgeous and confident all these varieties of women look. It’s pretty expensive, but it’s something that you can treasure forever. I know it sounds silly, but I could see myself showing my photo album to my daughter or granddaughter someday to show that it’s important to have a positive body image. –Love Ms. A
